new work : moondust, constance, live & august prints!

“Constance” is a sky-high view of the Olympic Mountains from Anderson to Iron peaks. A highly-textured and monochrome piece with layers of gold leaf, iridescence and acrylic.

“Moondust”

My inspiration is always drawn from nature, and the past year has been a deep introspection into our relationship with the moon and her phases and cycles. We have much to learn from paying attention to this and learning to ‘go with the flow’ rather than against it.

“August”

The Climax Bound Collection is focused on abstraction.

For me, abstraction comes from within.  When reaching those physical and mental peaks in life, I see color; wrestling, dancing, flowing color.  I want you to strive for those personal peaks in your life as well. I want to inspire you to seek your maximum potential, and to feel your connection with everyone and everything in order to reach that potential.

My abstract pieces are a journey to create my vision through the use of textures, materials and pigment. I encourage you to touch them, and to feel and absorb the energy that went into the piece from the state of inspiration through to fruition.

new work : awakening and burst

galaxy art, pink poppies, poppy art, nature art

Awakening

Awakenings don’t always happen in the light.

Some happen in the deepest dark. The darkness that you find by going deep within yourself. Not all darkness is evil, of course. Sometimes it comes with solitude, silence, reflection and even surrender.

Like sunlight opens the flower, this darkness can initiate a natural evolution of ourselves.  An opening of the heart and mind. This darkness allows you to see beauty you would never otherwise see, the color and light that isn’t visible until the sun disappears.

Burst

Layers and layers of copper leaf, acrylic paint and acrylic inks set in layers of clear gloss pouring medium.  Available on Leggings too!

new work : releasing aurora

The past is the past. In order to move forward, we must turn the page on the previous chapter. In letting go, we gain more of our selves.

The Texas studio is open!

So here we are. The walls are painted, the house is unpacked, and (nearly) everything is in its place.  The studio has been wrapped up in boxes for four months, and she has emerged like an epic butterfly in her new space.

The setup took much longer than I had speculated, which seems to be a pattern. It’s rough living in fantasy land sometimes.

Sitting here at the table that the movers lost the screws to somehow, the limbo and chaos of the relocation overseas are finally subsiding, and calm and gratitude are taking over.

My husband and I have been dreaming about this for quite some time, having a space we can truly make our own. The fur babies even have a doggie door 😀

Unpacking things you haven’t seen in four months can be very Christmas-like, especially when it’s something you forgot about.  We have so many treasures from friends and travels, and it was so much fun deciding where to put everything.

This is the longest that the studio has been closed since I opened my business, and it has been a mental struggle for sure. The plethora of notes and painting sketches on scraps of paper is immense. So much to do, so little time. Hopefully I remember what the fuck I’m doing.

I really want to say thank you for hanging around and waiting for me to come back, it means so much to me. I have big plans and big paintings on the way, and I can’t wait to show you <3

But for the moment, here is a little 360 tour of the new studio!

It is amazing and I can’t believe I get to work in such an epic space. I have five workstations! FIVE! It’s mind-blowing, and I couldn’t be more giddy, humbled and grateful.

Everything is live again on the site, and custom orders are active – including the Lyric Scarves!

New Arrivals include Kimono Robes and Dresses 🙂

The paints flies again starting today, and I hope you’re feeling the joy blasting forth this Monday. I love you so much.

With all the love and gratitude,

Emily <3
